In Blitzkid he was called Jesco Devilanse - a combination of what many call "the last of the mountain dancers" documentary film star (Jesco White) and the patriarchal mean spirited father of the Hatfield clan (Devilanse Hatfield). But now he is Andrew Winter again. And he has a new band: Andrew Winter and the Reckless Dodgers (AWRD).  We’ve talked to him about his thoughts on Blitzkid, his time in Gorgeous Frankenstein and why he left both bands – and ofcourse about AWRD. Travis Broyles is not only running the record label Robot Monster, he has designed several websites for horrorpunk-bands too. But his main profession is being a tattoo-artist who works at a studio in Washington. And he is great at what he’s doing. There’s a reason why people like Michale Graves and  J.V. Braindead - Five Years Dead

Finally after years of hard work the russian horrorpunks from Braindead released their first full lenght album 5 Years Dead via Contra Lights Records.. Formed in 2004 the band played in the best clubs of moscow and other russian cities. Since then the band was already featured on several compilations and has an ep out for download called "Back To The Horror". But now the fans can hold a complete cd in their hands. The 14 tracks of Braindeads full-lenght-debut was mixed and mastered by Jackal at the Casket Garden Studios and was then ready to leave moscow to haunt the world.

Interview with J.V. Bastard from Darrow Chemical Company

Darrow Chemical Company has its roots in the horror-scene. At least most of the members have played in several horrorpunk bands. But this one is different - this is DIY-punkrock at it's best, including the recordings, the production and the promotion. Their debut "A Nightmare On Seventh Avenue" (see the review on this blog) was released half a year ago and immediately got listeners and fans all over the world. Besides of the rocking tunes, it's probably the honest and emotional lyrics from J.V about the everyday-horror that catches their attention. And the fans can expect more in 2012. Darrow-founder and songwriter J.V. Bastard talked with us about the band releases, his thoughts on the scene and the future plans for Darrow Chemical Company and its record label W.H.B. records. The nightmare fortunately continues...
